Just found your site by following the link in your CMSMS externaliser plugin. My wrists thank you very much for that- I’ve developed a fair few CMSMS based sites now and all the development tweaking through the browser with a hundred mouse clicks and not being able to use tab for formatting was doing my head in! I did put links to external CSS files in the last site I did, but this will help things considerably- very neat solution and one that I’m most grateful for.
So was there a particular reason why you were happy to change from CMSMS to WP? Other than the fact that WP seems to be better suited to blog situations, I’ve generally found CMSMS to be my CMS platform of choice.
I still love CMSMS and will continue to use it for content sites. The thing it really lacks though is a blog module. I was considering making one but then had to have a go with Wordpress at work and fell in love with it. It’s just so NEAT! Then I forgot all about it and left this site in a total mess for the past month!
Thanks for the kind words about the Externalizer. I think it’s pretty neat too But also it demonstrates the power and excellent design of the CMSMS module system. It’s a bit of weird thing to want to do from a technical point of view and yet it was pretty easy to achieve and didn’t require any hacks.
